Pick Quick Assist when
- Both sides use Windows
- The helper needs full control of the screen
- Your helpers already have Microsoft accounts
Pick Quick Assist when both sides use Windows and the helper needs full control. Pick Anslation Remote when the person you help is on a Mac or another desktop browser, should install nothing, and every session must be approved and audited.
What we say about Quick Assist comes from its own pages, checked on 2 November 2026. Where it does more, the table says so.
| Question | Anslation Remote | Quick Assist |
|---|---|---|
| What the person you help runs | A desktop browser and a 9-digit code | Quick Assist on Windows, from the Start menu or the Microsoft Store |
| Macs | Yes, in Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari | Only in sessions with Microsoft Support |
| Helper sign-in | Your team signs in to Anslation | The helper needs a Microsoft account |
| What the helper can do | See the shared screen or window: view-only | View, annotate, or full control when the person sharing allows it |
| Roles and session logs | Four roles, and an audit log with CSV export | No roles or policies; Microsoft points organisations to Intune Remote Help for those |
