Will screen sharing work on this computer?
Run the check before a support session. It tests screen sharing in this browser and asks the STUN servers a session uses whether a direct connection is likely.
Checking this browser…
- Screen sharing Run the check to see this result.
- Secure page Run the check to see this result.
- Peer-to-peer connection Run the check to see this result.
- Direct path Run the check to see this result.
This check runs in your browser. It saves nothing and sends nothing to Anslation; the network test only asks the STUN servers a session uses for this computer’s public address.
What each result means.
| Check | When it passes | When it does not |
|---|---|---|
| Screen sharing | This browser can open its screen picker | Use Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari on a computer; phone browsers cannot share a screen here |
| Secure page | The page runs over HTTPS, which browsers need before they share a screen | Open the page over HTTPS |
| Peer-to-peer connection | The browser can open a WebRTC connection | Update the browser, or turn off an extension that blocks WebRTC |
| Direct path | Your network answered the STUN test, so a direct connection is likely | A firewall may block it; try another network, or ask your support team about a TURN relay |
If sharing does not start.
- Chrome or Edge on a MacOpen System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and allow the browser to capture the screen. Quit and reopen the browser afterwards.
- SafariWhen Safari asks, allow the site to share your screen, then pick a window or the whole screen.
- FirefoxFirefox shows its own sharing prompt: choose a window or a screen, then allow it.
- Phones and tabletsTo share your screen, open the join link on a computer: a code works only once, so join on the phone only if you just want to chat.

Screen sharing problems, answered.
Why is screen sharing not working?
The usual causes are a phone or tablet browser, an old browser, or a computer setting that stops the browser from capturing the screen. Run the check on this page to see which one applies.
Screen share kyu nahi ho raha?
Usually one of three things: a phone or tablet browser, an old browser, or a computer setting that stops the browser from capturing the screen. Run the check on this page to find out which.
What is a TURN relay?
A server that passes the encrypted media between two browsers when a firewall blocks a direct connection. Anslation Remote uses public STUN servers by default; a TURN relay is set up per deployment.
Does this check save or send anything?
It saves nothing and sends nothing to Anslation. The network test asks the public STUN servers a session uses for this computer’s public address, and the answer stays on this page.
Can I share my screen from a phone?
Not in Anslation Remote: sharing needs a computer. A code works only once, so to share your screen, open the join link on a computer; join on the phone only if you just want to chat.
