Ansi

Install and use the Ansi browser extension

The Ansi extension (v0.1.0) runs on Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox. It adds a launcher on Alt+A, an “ansi” address-bar shortcut and right-click saving to Anslation. It cannot read the page you are on.

What it does

Launcher
Click the toolbar icon or press Alt+A to jump to any Anslation product. Type to filter, then use the arrow keys and Enter.
Address bar
Type ansi, a space, then your question to search Ansi directly.
Quick actions
“Save this page to Anslation” sends the current tab to your capture inbox, and “Open in AnsTracker Live Browser” opens AnsTracker. “Ask Ansi about this page” opens Ansi, but this version does not pass the page along yet, so paste in what you want to ask about.
Right-click saving
Save this page, or a selection, to your Anslation capture inbox.

NoteThis version has no side panel, and it does not read or summarise the page you are on: Ansi answers open in an Anslation tab. A side panel is in development and not published.

Install on Chrome, Edge or Brave

  1. Download ansi-extension.zip from the extension page and unzip it.
  2. Open chrome://extensions (on Edge, edge://extensions) and turn on Developer mode.
  3. Choose Load unpacked and select the unzipped folder.
  4. Pin Ansi to the toolbar, then press Alt+A to open the launcher.

Install on Firefox

  1. Download ansi-extension-firefox.zip from the extension page and unzip it.
  2. Open about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox.
  3. Choose Load Temporary Add-on and pick manifest.json inside the unzipped folder.

What it can access

The extension asks for storage, tabs, context menus and scripting. Its host access and its page script are limited to Anslation’s own sites, never every website, and it reuses your signed-in Anslation tab, so there is no separate login.
